Evon Medics, LLC is actively seeking Community Outreach Workers with extensive experience working with the aging and drug use populations to join our innovative organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interacting with and engaging  individuals, groups, community leaders, local authorities, and organizations within an assigned community with the aim of enrolling eligible volunteers into the Evon Medics/NIH sponsored research studies and Clinical Trials. The candidate will organize and facilitate educational presentations on health-related topics in the assigned communities for continuous community engagement, represent the company at community events and activities, and ensure the distribution and availability of study pamphlets and flyers in strategic locations within the communities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize and facilitate educational presentations and related events to engage residents and organizations and enroll eligible study participants
  • Represent the company at community events and activities
  • Develop and distribute study pamphlets and flyers and study recruitment material at strategic locations within the community and ensure constant availability of same
  • Develop and sustain positive relationships with residents, community leaders, local authorities, and organizations
  • Conduct street outreach at least twice a week to distribute study pamphlets and flyers
  • Assist in all aspects of retention including, but not limited to, study team outreach; tracking scheduled study visits; and reminding participants about follow-up visits through phone calls, emails, texts, letters, and home visits
  • Act as Liaison to the Community Advisory Board (CAB), attend monthly CAB meetings, present research findings to the CAB, present new protocols and recruitment materials to the CAB for feedback, and in-turn present the CAB
    feedback to the network study team
  • Maintain confidentiality of study participants and adhere to principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Human Subject Protection (HSP)
  • Manage social media accounts to ensure engagement of prospective study participants
  • Prepare detailed reports on outreach activities and provide constant feedback from attendees to management
  • Develop and revise presentations as needed under the guidance of the Program Manager
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Management

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience organizing and facilitating engaging community-based events and activities
  • Experience engaging and enrolling participants of diverse backgrounds into research studies and Clinical Trials
  • Excellent communication, presentation, public speaking, and interpersonal skills
  • Amiable and non-judgmental personality with ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for participants
  • Hard-working, self-motivated, and reliable
  • Relationship building and management skills
  • High School Diploma required; Associates or College degree preferred

Other Skills and Requirements:

  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to walk and stand for long hours in a day
  • Complete training and refresher training sessions with Program Manager
  • Must have reliable means of transportation with valid license and insurance
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Travel – up to 80% local
  • May be required to lift objects up to 25 pounds
