NIH Recognizes COAT™ Study, Highlighting Breakthrough in Alzheimer’s Research

Evon Medics Inc. is pleased to announce that its research on the Computerized Olfactory Adaptive Training (COAT™) system has been recognized by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), marking a major milestone in Alzheimer’s research. The NIH-featured study shows that a six-month COAT™ intervention is linked to improved cognition and increased gray matter in key memory-related brain regions. These findings highlight COAT’s potential as a non-invasive, home-based solution for early intervention in cognitive decline.

Evon Medics, Inc. Co-Founder, Dr. Evaristus Nwulia, has been appointed as the Director of the Seedlings Program and Lead Principal Investigator at the NeuroTech Harbor (NTH) Technology Accelerator. The NeuroTech Harbor is supported by a grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Blueprint MedTech program.

National Institute on Drug Abuse issues $2.8m SBIR Fasttrack Financial Award to Evon Medics Inc.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse apart of the National Institutes of Health issued Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Fasttrack award of $2.8m to Evon Medics Inc. for the Development and Evaluation of its mobile health platform for remote management of substance use disorders (SUD). This study will address the healthcare needs of communities of socially disadvantaged populations that lag in the adoption of mobile platforms due to the inability to read, digital illiteracy, lack of access to smartphones, absence of reliable Wi-Fi or internet, and financial constraints.

George C. McFarland, MSW Joins Evon Medics Inc. as Advisor

Mr. George McFarland joins the Evon Medics Inc Advisory Board effective June 1, 2021. George brings his wealth of experience managing over $100 million in grants and contracts to promote health and human development. His network and experience working with numerous organizations throughout the United States to improve the quality of life in communities affected by health and socially determined risks would also be valuable to Evon Medics Inc. as we continue to engage these underserved populations in our clinical trials.

National Institute on Aging issues $2.5m SBIR Phase II Financial Award to Evon Medics Inc.

The National Institute on Aging a part of the National Institutes of Health issued the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II award of $2.5m to Evon Medics Inc. for the Development and Evaluation of its Computerized Olfactory Adaptive Training (COAT™) for the treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease. This is following encouraging results from the successful SBIR Phase I study.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse a part of the National Institutes of Health issued Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II award of $1.7m to Evon Medics Inc. for the Development and Evaluation of its Computerized Chemosensory-Based Orbitofrontal Cortex Training (CBOT) for the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder. This is following a hugely successful SBIR Phase I study.

March 2020, Evon Medics Inc completes successful Phase I clinical trials for its Computerized Olfactory Adaptive Training Program (COAT™), developed for preventing the development and progression of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and its Computerized Chemosensory-Based Orbitofrontal Cortex Training (CBOT), developed for the management of the Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). Both solutions are home-based and user-friendly neuromodulatory devices.
